About Me
I hold a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. I have strong experience in applied research on digital and sustainable engineering systems and in supervising students in project-based learning environments. My work bridges decision analytics, digital transformation, and strategic operations, with a particular focus on Cloud Supply Chain as a Service. My research is oriented toward supporting managerial decision-making and strategy formulation in operations-intensive industries.
I introduced the Base-Criterion Method (BCM) in 2020 and the HECON method in 2023 as two decision analytic methods that have been adopted and extended by researchers across multiple countries. Additionally, I have further developed advanced decision-analytics frameworks grounded in novel theoretical perspectives. I am also the Lead Editor of two Elsevier books: Reliable Decision-Making for Sustainable Transportation and the Encyclopedia of Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM). Our Encyclopedia project brought together 145 researchers from 102 universities across 35 countries, forming one of the largest international collaborations in the field of decision analytics.
My research has resulted in more than 25 peer-reviewed journal publications in leading journals including Transportation Research Part E, Technological Forecasting & Social Changes, Expert Systems with Applications, Information Sciences, Applied Soft Computing, and other internationally recognized journals. My research interests include Cloud Supply Chain as a Service, fuzzy decision systems, digital transformation, circular economy, and decision-making under uncertainty. I have also served as a reviewer for more than 500 manuscripts across over 70 international journals.
Beyond research, I have been involved in internationally funded projects, including the Digital Voting Hub for Sustainable Urban Transport Systems (VOTE-TRA) project [No. 22/NCF/DR/11309] funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) at University College Dublin, and the project Intersectoral and Interdisciplinary Cooperation in Research and Development of Communication and Information Technologies [CZ.02.01.01/00/23_021/0008402] at the University of Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic.
I welcome opportunities for international collaboration in research, editorial activities, and applied decision-support projects. If you are interested in potential collaboration, I would be pleased to hear from you.
